Instrument Flight Instructor Training

Enrollment Requirements
Students enrolling in this course must possess a valid Third Class medical certificate and a valid Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. In addition, the student must hold a Flight Instructor Certificate.
Course Objective
The student will obtain the aeronautical skill and experience necessary to meet the requirements for the addition of an Instrument Rating to the existing Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.
Completion Standard
The student will demonstrate through written tests, flight tests and training records that he has the necessary aeronautical skill and experience for the addition of an Instrument Rating to his existing Certified Flight Instructor Certificate. Completion of this Course is a prerequisite for advanced flight instructor training and is sufficient for an advanced occupational entry-level position as an Instrument Certified Flight Instructor.

The above training times are the minimum for this course. At the end of this course, the student may require additional instruction to achieve the proficiency level required to meet the minimum standards for the addition of an Instrument Rating to his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate. The Course cost does not include the aircraft rental for the check ride.
Training will be accomplished in the Cessna 172 airplane.
